Summary:
The first international conference on liquefied natural gas took place in Chicago, April 7-12, 1968, when the LNG industry was in its infancy.
In these early technical sessions, speakers described—using detailed maps, charts, and tables—the role of natural gas in the world energy picture. One participant noted that LNG was already regarded as "the fuel with a great future."
Thus began a tradition to hold a biennial, and later a triennial, forum for the candid exchange of information and insights on LNG.
The proceedings of these conferences provide a continual record of the major technological, commercial, and economic developments and trends in the LNG industry. This CD contains the papers and poster papers from the LNG 1 through 16 Conferences & Exhibitions on Liquefied Natural Gas held from April 1968 to April 2010. The three official sponsors of this conference series are the International Gas Union, the International Institute of Refrigeration, and Gas Technology Institute.
